There is (I think) a demand for a thread which looks at Jesus. Who was he and what did he achieve? We seem to be stopping short in exploring the phenomenon of Jesus.

As ever I come to this thread totaly unprepared but have the feeling that we should look at Him afresh.

There is one single overriding effect Jesus had. That was the opening of the knowledge of God to the Pagans. Had things remained as there were it is possible that Judaism would have been the only faith with the direct and intimate knowledge of God. Jesus, I believe changed all that. For the first time God was made known to the Pagan (Heathens) with the promise of salvation. (The unknown God)

There are various references in Scripture about the nature of Jesus and his teaching each with a familiar ring to them. There is the teaching of Love, there are the beatitudes, the forgiveness of sin and there is the certain knowledge of the resurrection and life ever lasting........ But what do you think? Can you imagine a world without him? What would it be like? Would the knowledge of God ever reached the Pagan?
